Happy New Year
Happy New Year!
I had two weeks off for Winter break and it was pretty cool. I didn’t have to think about lesson plans, prep, or classroom cleanup and it was glorious. We returned yesterday and it was the least stressful return from Winter Break that I’ve ever had. The first time I didn’t have the “Sunday Scaries” in a long time. I think part of that has to do with the fact that I actually rested during break and didn’t travel. I know traveling is a must for some people on vacation, but I am too much of a homebody. I was able to rest, actually explore my city, and eat good food. We also organized the house more and it’s starting to feel more cozy.
I also hosted my first event with Bay Area Paper & Plans (BAPP). I met some cool people and we made vision boards. I usually dread hosting things but for some reason, I enjoy these sorts of events. I think it’s due to the fact that I never really got to throughly enjoy or pursue creative endeavors growing up. I had a lot of pressure to focus on school and eventually a career in order to make money. Even when I was allowed to try certain sports or hobbies, my brain was all over the place and I just wanted to do all the things. I never really stuck with anything. With BAPP I can do all the creative things, but with other people who also want to do all the things.
I’m also pretty booked this month. Besides BAPP events and planning, I’ve got some friend meetups and a sewing workshop. That might not sound like someone’s usual “booked and busy,” but my job is exhausting. The fact that I even have energy to host events or hang out on my only days off each month is huge.
Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful 2026 and that it’s full of everything you want and more!
